HATFIELD COLLIERY
Project description
Internal survey of headstock 1 and external survey of headstock 1 and 2 on a disused colliery.
The internal survey was carried out using the Elios 2 Drone, the external survey using the Phantom 4 RTK drone.
Why the use of the drone was advantageous
Both headstocks were in a poor state of repair and were too dangerous for personnel to access. Both in terms of time and cost it would not have been practical to carry out these surveys via traditional survey methods.

Large sheltered housing flat development for Local Authority
Why the use of the drone was advantageous
Was used for monitoring project and ongoing inspection. Reduced the need for working at height to achieve this, hence safer and cost effective. Footage from the project was very useful for letting the client view progress.
HAMMERSTONE ROAD, MANCHESTER

Inspection of large depot type old train shed
Why the use of the drone was advantageous
Safety and cost effective, roof was in too poor condition and would also have been very difficult to access for a person.
Other comments
Special permissions needed as within restricted air space, close to residential areas and close to rail line.
DEVELOPMENT SITE, POCKLINGTON
Project description
Potential site for building residential dwellings, heavily overgrown by vegetation and difficult access.
Why the use of the drone was advantageous
Very difficult access due to overgrown vegetation, hence very cost effective and safe. Would have needed a lot of work to grant access to a person.
WALWORTH, GRIMSBY

Small additional storey added to building.
Why the use of the drone was advantageous
Cost effective and safe to monitor ongoing work.
PARK HOUSE FARM, NORTHALLERTON
Project description
Inspect damaged and blocked guttering on shed buildings.
Why the use of the drone was advantageous
Safer then erecting scaffold or for inspector to climb up to the guttering. A lot faster to carry out the process and hence a lot more cost effective.
